My Story

     My mother emigrated into this country, while her country was in turmoil. She sought refuge here in California. I know what it feels like to have a parent from another country and the potential fears of the immigration's stronghold on immigrants. So understanding how terrifying immigration law can be and the possibility of losing your parent due to obscene legalities is a very terrifying feeling. I had helped my mother with her legal residency renewal about a year ago. She was fearful that I was going to make a mistake however, I leaped over that hurdle in full stride and with confidence. She had successfully renewed her green card with the help of her son. Knowing I've always wanted to go into the legal field, I never had an idea on what my niche would be as far as legal practice. Until that day when my mother got her new green card in the mail with tears in her eyes she graciously thanked me. Her joy and relief gave me the motivation, and drive to specialize in immigration law. She even had told me, that if I was able to help her, why not help others as well. It was an ah-ha moment for me, I had found my legal niche. I can keep families together, and make sure kids can grow up with their parents in the same country. Immigration law has become a driving passion for myself as a child of an immigrant parent, I know what it feels like to potentially have your parent taken away from your life in a instance, just because of a foible on some contrived laws and restrictions.
